What "penthouse" means in Condado (and what it usually doesn't)

The word "penthouse" gets used two different ways in Condado listings, so it's worth being specific.

In hotels, "penthouse suite" means a top-floor executive suite — usually one to two bedrooms, hotel-standard finishes, room service, and a small terrace. Great for a night, expensive for a week.

In vacation rentals, "penthouse" usually means a top-floor apartment in a residential building — larger square footage, a full kitchen, laundry, and one or more private balconies. The building sits inside the Paseo Caribe complex, on the peninsula between Condado Lagoon and the Atlantic. Two-minute walk to the Caribe Hilton grounds, six-minute walk to Condado Beach, ten-minute walk to Ashford Avenue's main restaurant strip, twelve-minute walk to Playita del Condado — the small reef-protected swimming cove locals prefer when the Atlantic is rough.

If you've never stayed in Condado, this location matters more than the unit spec. Paseo Caribe is quiet, gated, and residential. You walk out of the building and you're in a mixed-use complex with cafés, a grocery store, and a waterfront promenade — not stepping straight onto Ashford Avenue. It suits guests who want the neighborhood but not the noise, which is most people who book a penthouse for six.

What makes 308 specific is: (a) it's a full residential apartment converted to a vacation rental, not a hotel suite, and (b) it's in the Paseo Caribe complex, which is a gated waterfront residential building distinct from the hotels.

Can we walk to Condado Beach and Playita del Condado from the penthouse? Yes. Condado Beach is a 6-minute flat walk. Playita del Condado (the small reef-protected swimming cove in front of Condado Vanderbilt) is 12 minutes.

Is there a rooftop pool? The pool and hot tub are on the ground level, shared with other residents of the Paseo Caribe complex. There is no rooftop pool.

Can we bring more than six guests? The maximum occupancy is six. If you have a group of 7 or 8, message us — we usually recommend booking the penthouse plus a nearby studio in the same building for the extra guests.
