Marquee events — the ones to plan around
San Sebastian Street Festival (Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián)
Puerto Rico's biggest street party. Four days of live music, parades, art vendors, food stalls, and Bomba dance in Old San Juan. 100,000+ visitors, locals from across the island, and Puerto Rican diaspora flying in for the weekend.
Why stay in Condado: 15-min Uber to Old SJ but quieter, safer, with parking and pool to recover. Old SJ rooms triple in price during these dates — Condado is the smart play.
Three Kings Day (Día de Reyes)
The most uniquely Puerto Rican holiday of the year. Children leave grass for the camels, parades fill Old SJ, and family gatherings extend Christmas all the way to mid-January. The Plaza Las Américas Three Kings parade is the largest.
Why stay in Condado: easy access to all parade routes + the family-friendly beachfront restaurants nearby for post-parade meals.
Heineken JazzFest
One of the Caribbean's premier jazz festivals. Three nights of headline acts at Tito Puente Amphitheater — mix of international jazz legends and Latin jazz innovators. Sold-out crowds.
Why stay in Condado: the amphitheater is a 10-min Uber. Walk-back to Condado Beach restaurants is part of the experience.
Saborea Puerto Rico (Food & Wine Festival)
Three-day celebration of Puerto Rican gastronomy at Escambrón Beach. 50+ chefs, wine tastings, mofongo competitions, rum cocktail showcases. Tickets sell out weeks in advance.
Why stay in Condado: Escambrón is a 5-min walk from our complex. Stumble home, no Uber needed.
San Juan Bautista Festival (Noche de San Juan)
Puerto Rico's most spiritual night. At midnight, locals walk into the ocean backwards three times for good luck. Bonfires, music, and beach gatherings line Condado and Ocean Park beaches all night long.
Why stay in Condado: you're literally on the beach. Step out at midnight and join thousands of locals on the sand. Truly unforgettable.
Loíza Carnival (Fiestas Tradicionales de Santiago Apóstol)
The Afro-Boricua heart of Puerto Rico. Vejigantes (masked figures), Bomba dance, processions through Loíza town. Day trip from Condado — one of the most photographed cultural festivals in the Caribbean.
Why stay in Condado: 30-min drive each way. Use Condado as your base, head out for the day, return for pool and rest.
Christmas in Puerto Rico (Navidades)
The longest Christmas season in the world — runs from Thanksgiving through mid-January. Parrandas (surprise carolers), trullas, music in every plaza, family gatherings, and incredible food (lechón, arroz con gandules, coquito).
Why stay in Condado: warm beach weather + holiday lights in Old SJ + family-friendly atmosphere. December is high season — book 90+ days ahead.
New Year's Eve in San Juan
Fireworks from the Condado coastline + Old SJ rooftops. Beach parties, hotel countdowns, and the Caribbean's tradition of throwing a bucket of water out the window at midnight to clear bad luck.
Why stay in Condado: rooftop hot tub access + lagoon view balcony = NYE prime real estate. We sell out 6 months in advance for these dates.
